Alyssa Wootten

Alyssa Wootten Confidence is a crucial tool for improvement and I want to share that with others, as the current teachers at Blush have done with me. I have a multi-athletic and competitive gymnast background and was so excited to see how these skills could be incorporated into the aerial arts! I am probably the biggest animal lover you’ll ever meet. The sense of team at Blush is like no other, accepting, encouraging and empowering. As someone who has struggled massively with self confidence over the years, I’m surprisingly good at helping others to gain confidence in themselves. Confidence takes you such a long way and is a crucial tool for improvement and I want to share that with others, as the current teachers at Blush have done with me. Beckie Hebson

I first joined Blush Dance in 2009 as a pole and burlesque student as an alternative to going to the gym. I soon became, fitter, stronger, sassier and met some amazing people who are still good friends now. I got my first taste of aerial hoop in 2012 and was instantly hooked to life in the air. I love the challenge of learning new tricks and especially love doubles work. I like to make my lessons fun whilst challenging my students. I love seeing students progress and achieve things they once thought impossible. My proudest moments are standing at the side of the stage watching my students perform at our showcases, seeing all of their hard work and dedication pay off. With a background in personal training, I can offer students tips and suggestions for how to improve their aerial skills both in and away from the studio by focussing on key areas of strength and conditioning. I’m a two time World Champion powerlifter with several World, European and British records to my name – so if you ever need a spotter, you’re in safe hands! I started competing in 2017 so the years of lifting myself up at Blush definitely made me strong. Blush has been a huge part of my life for many years and given me some great experiences that have helped to make me who I am today. Victoria Bowden

Meet Victoria Bowden. Senior Aerial Instructor Victoria’s aerial journey started in 2008 when Vicky & friend attended a pole and burlesque taster evening for a bit of fun and to try something different. Vicky says “I wasn’t quite confident enough to get my legs out and wear shorts for the pole, so just rolled up my tracksuit bottoms as high as I possibly could. It was such a fun night – I LOVED IT!” There after I was hooked and joining regular Blush Dance classes in pole, burlesque and street dance – in my shorts! It is a really lovely and uplifting atmosphere to walk into with absolutely no judgement. Instead you only find support and other people who build each other up. You’ll grow friendships whilst building strength, stamina flexibility, fitness and confidence as whole. Over the years new aerial equipment was introduced to the studio – slings, hoop and silks, pole silks and cube – bringing new challenges and new skills. I love helping others reach their goals, to challenge them and see them achieve things they didn’t think possible. To see the joy and the little wins and the transformations, especially when they’ve worked so hard to conquer their personal goals. To see them thrive. It’s fasinating to me. I love to teach and motivate people to gain new skills, get fit and to help build confidence and character. My background is training and competing in Rhythmic and Artistic gymnastics, which then lead me into a coaching career gaining various qualifications in the sports, thereafter allowing me to teach and share my passion and experience to the generations coming through. Gymnastics is a core discipline that lends itself to aerial and pole fitness perfectly. When I’m not working I LOVE to head outdoors and up into the hills to find fresh air and freedom. I do also love a good action packed adventure. Blush is my extended family where we all love to dance and fly and get creative – and help and support others along the way! Marie Thurrold

I joined Blush in 2015 after I saw an actress performing silks online. After finding Blush and attending my first silks class, I’ve never looked back! Silks is my happy place, it allows me to be creative with movement as well as build my strength. I love teaching students the sport I fell in love with. It’s a joy to see their development throughout their journey. I like to focus on core foundations and ensure conditioning is complete at the start of every class to build our strength for the more challenging moves to come. I do love seeing students succeeding in combinations I’ve put together❤️ I’ve danced throughout my childhood up until I started working when I was 18. I use to perform ballet, tap, modern, street and commercial dance. I also taught younger children throughout my teenager years. I am now a fitness fanatic. Over the past 10 years I’ve walked many mountains and completed lots of challenges. I do calisthenics and weights training on a regular basis. More recently, I’ve started competing in crossfit competition with my personal trainers group. I love a holiday, I love to hear all about people’s holiday’s. Any travel recommendations I’m all ears, I’m always looking for the next country to visit. I started Blush on my own back in 2015 and everyone welcomed me with open arms. I’ve met true friends for life through Blush and every teacher that has taught me has help craft the person I am today. Thank you all! I love showing off, I love doing something that’s quite different, difficult and inspiring. It keeps me strong and gives me ways to socialise with all my blush friends. I’m always proud every time I’ve been part of a show, and great self esteem. I enjoy helping people get out of their comfort zone, showing them how strong and talented they are. Its great getting to know all the blush students, people who have become great friends. I did some gymnastics when I was younger, taught by the wonderful vicky bowden, which was a great platform for my circus life. I’ve had a C section and the recovery was slow but i got there! I love wearing layers, cake, but I’m allergic to most animals! I love blush as its organised, classes are good fun and follow a logical structure. Provides a great space to make friends and put on great shows Qualifications & Training Spin City Aerial Hoop Instructor: Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced, Spin City Instructor Training Flexibility Xpole Aerial & Pole for kids instructor Training Competition Titles: Several UK hoop and silks competitions Professional circus performer Producer of circurious cabaret
Scotia Ferguson

Scotia started aerial in 2021 with absolutely no experience in anything fitness related! I could barely get both my feet off the floor and have definitely worked my way up. I did drama in college so always knew performing was something I wanted to do, once I started aerial I definitely got into all thing fitness and even achieved my level 2 gym instructor qualification, currently finishing level 3, alongside advanced hoop, and intermediate silks both with Spin City. I love teaching because I know how exciting the feeling of achieving a new move is. I love that I’m in a position where I can share that feeling with like-minded people. I’m also a big fan of dynamics! Anything with a twist, roll or drop I’m your gal. I aim to make every class feel like you’ve achieved something Qualifications & Training Spin City Aerial Silks Instructor: Foundation – Intermediate First Aid Trained Spin City Pole Fitness Instructor: Beginner Spin City Aerial Hoop Instructor: Beginner – Advanced Level 2 Gym Instructor Achievements / Competition Titles: I performed in my first Blush Showcase 2026

I used to dance and having had a baby I wanted a new hobby that would tap into something I love, build my strength and give me something just for me. To help me feel like myself again. I honestly feel at my happiest dancing in heels. I enjoy watching students fall in love with pole, to develop and achieve things they didn’t know they were capable of. I love to build positive relationships with students and I value the trust they put in me to help them progress and achieve their goals. Growing up I was a competitive dancer and figure skater – although nothing formal and no related qualifications. I am a Blush student myself and train in pole and heels pole. I have a hectic day job, 2 children and 2 dogs and for me pole dancing is my escape – I love seeing other people find that too. Becky has created a safe space and such a friendly welcoming community at Blush and its something i’m fiercely protective of. We work hard to create inclusive classes where you are encouraged to be your true self and will always leave with something positive- and maybe a new friend or two!
